Eastern Basketball Alliance - EBA

03/08/08 - The Bullets squeaked out an 87 to 86 win after a close game with the Starting Five on Saturday March 8th at the Winslow twp High School.

In the last game - on January 19th - the Starting Five won the game with some sharp shooting from Danny Terrell who sank 8 three pointers. But this time, the Bullets Coach, Chris Martin, was determined not to let that happen again. The Bullets held Terrell to no field goals in the first half and only two field goals in the second half.

“When you let any team score 133 points like they did the last time, you are not supposed to win,” said Coach Martin, “and tonight Charles Lott of the Starting Five was held to 20 points instead of the 35 he scored in the last game.”

The Bullets ran a very controlled offence that placed four players in double figures. Kelvin Fleming led all scorers with 24points, Kirk Kerrin had 14points all coming in the second half. Keith Wright scored 14points along with 13 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 steals and 4 assist. Tim Polk added 13points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks shots, while Clayton Brown controlled the backboards with 19 rebounds, 5 block shots and 8points.

Ike Outten was a perfect 3 for 3 from the field for 6points with James Ingram and Sidney Frances each scoring 4pointsAnthony Bowens did not have a field goal in the game, but his 10 assists, 5 steals and 5 rebounds along with his defensive effort gave the Bullets the edge they needed to get the win 87 to 86.
