Eastern Basketball Alliance - EBA

01/12/08 - From the opening tap to the closing buzzer, Horizon and the New Jersey Starting Five traded baskets and stood their ground - neither team willing to give an inch.  The game was tied 27 all after one and 55 all at half-time.  Harrisburg eaked out a one point lead at the end of the third quarter 79 -78 and then hung on for a two point win 107-105.

Derrick Perry sank a final shot with 5 seconds left on the clock to put Harrisburg ahead.  New Jersey’s last desperation shot bounced off the rim - allowing the Horizon to claim victory.  Perry’s 22 points, 7 rebounds and Michah Davenport’s 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 blocks led the way for the defending EBA champs.

Kareem Collins made 12 of his 29 game high points in the 4th quarter to keep the pressure constantly on the Horizon.  He got a lot of back-up support from teammates Robert Skipper’s 19, Charles Lott’s 16 and Deion Mingo’s 14 that included 4 3-pointers.
